A little more than a month after it was destroyed by an arsonist, playground equipment at Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver was removed by heavy equipment on Wednesday. The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to the popular playground, which will remain closed until new equipment can be installed later this year.
